Utah Conservation Commission (UCC)

BlackhamThe UCC was created in 1937 with responsibility for development and protection of Utah's soil, water, air, and related natural resources (Utah Code Title 4, Chapter 18). It oversees and supports the work of Utah's conservation districts and their 190 elected officials. It is within the Utah Department of Agriculture and Food and the Commissioner of Agriculture is the Chair. Members are one conservation district supervisor from each of seven zones, appointed by the governor, and by statue the president of the UACD, directors or their designees of the Utah Department of Environmental Quality, Utah Department of Natural Resources, Utah State University Extension, Utah School and Institutional Trust Lands Administration, Utah Grazing Improvement Program, and Utah Weed Supervisor's Association.
